The convex grind transitions from spine to edge without a flat secondary bevel, producing a blade that cuts with less resistance and holds its edge geometry through hard use. Brandon applies his own in-house heat treatment formula to dial in toughness and edge retention. After use, wipe the blade clean and dry. For storage, apply a thin coat of blade wax or camellia oil to the flat of the blade. Renaissance Wax is a trusted option, and purpose-made blade wax products work equally well. Thirty seconds of maintenance after use keeps 1095 performing and looking right for years. In humid conditions without care, surface rust will develop quickly.
