The first run configuration is the one everybody buys, and the small batch variant is the one people go looking for a year later.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eEverything the Nephilim Is, In a Size You Will Carry\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Nephilim has always been the fixed blade in Heretic's lineup that people admired and then left at home, because it is a lot of knife. The Mini keeps the dagger profile and brings it down to 7.9 inches overall with a 4 inch blade. That is the size where a fixed blade stops being a project and starts being something you put on a belt without thinking about it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe Dagger Profile\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eA dagger is a symmetrical blade that tapers to a point from both sides, which is what gives the Nephilim its silhouette and why the model looks the way it does. Worth knowing before you buy: dagger and double edged blades are restricted in some states and cities, so check your local law the way you would with any fixed blade of this shape.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eWhy DLC\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eDLC stands for diamond like carbon, and it is the hardest finish Heretic puts on a blade. It resists scratching better than a coating and it takes the shine off completely, so the blade reads flat black rather than glossy. Against carbon fiber scales the whole knife goes dark.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe Sheath Is Not an Afterthought\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis ships with a leather sheath made by JRE Industries in Wisconsin, fitted with the Ulticlip APH Clip.
