The Recurve has a curved edge that pulls material into the cut and slices well. The Tanto puts a second shorter edge at the front at an angle to the primary one, so the point is backed by a lot more steel. If you want the tip that takes abuse, this is the one of the two to have.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eGTC Bearings and the Lockbar Stabilizer\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGTC makes the race bearings in the pivot, which is a step up from caged ball bearings and most of why the action feels the way it does. The frame lock has a steel insert at the contact point so the lockbar does not wear itself into the tang, and a Lockbar Stabilizer keeps the bar from being overbent.
