G2 cartridges are at every drugstore for a couple of dollars, so you are never hunting a proprietary refill or paying a premium for one.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eBrass Has Weight\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eBrass is roughly twice the density of titanium, so the same pen in brass is a different object in your hand. Some people write better with it and some people find it too much, and you generally know which one you are inside a day.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt also patinas. Brass darkens where your fingers go and stays bright where they do not, so after a few months the pen carries a record of how you hold it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eAcid Washed\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eAcid wash eats into the surface rather than sitting on top of it, leaving a mottled texture that comes out different on every piece. On brass it also gives the patina somewhere to start, so the aging happens faster and with more depth.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eCheckered Paisley\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eA pattern cut into the body rather than printed on it.
