Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply
I’m Chris, and ZT is one of those brands that feels different the second you pick it up. These knives are solid, smooth, and engineered to last. Whether you're into hard-use folders or just want a tool that carries like a tank but looks clean doing it—ZT delivers.
History
Zero Tolerance was launched in 2006 by Kai USA Ltd. as a premium counterpart to Kershaw, focused on tactical and heavy-duty knives. Early models were collaborations with renowned custom makers like Ken Onion and Mick Strider, quickly earning ZT a loyal following among military, law enforcement, and EDC enthusiasts.
Based in Tualatin, Oregon, ZT has continued to evolve beyond pure tactical use—building knives that balance function with refined aesthetics, all while maintaining the durability the brand is known for. Every ZT knife is made in the USA with tight tolerances and top-tier materials.
What They’re Known For
-
Overbuilt Construction
ZT knives are made to handle serious use. Thick blade stock, reinforced pivots, and full liners give their knives a feel of confidence and control. -
Premium Materials
Expect steels like CPM 20CV, S35VN, and CruWear paired with titanium, carbon fiber, and G10 handles. Everything feels high-end because it is. -
Made in the USA
Every knife is proudly built in Oregon using American-made materials, with careful quality control from start to finish. -
Designer Collaborations
ZT has worked with some of the best in the business, including Dmitry Sinkevich, Todd Rexford, Les George, and Jens Anso—bringing custom-level design to the production world. -
Smooth Action and Locking Innovation
Many ZT models feature KVT ball-bearing pivots for snappy deployment, and their Sub-Frame Lock is a standout innovation—giving titanium lockbar strength without adding weight.
If you’re looking for a knife that checks every box—premium steel, confident ergonomics, and American-made build quality—Zero Tolerance is more than just a name. It's a commitment to making knives without compromise.
