Knife Safety and Compliance with Local Laws

Knife Safety & Legal Compliance

At Lone Star Knife & Supply, we care about responsible knife ownership — whether you’re a seasoned collector, a first-time buyer, or just love a well-made tool. We also believe in transparency and accountability, so here’s where we talk about safety and legal stuff. Not the most exciting topic — but an important one.

Know Your Local Laws

We sell knives, but we don’t write the laws — and unfortunately, knife laws vary a lot depending on where you live. Some cities and states restrict blade lengths, types of mechanisms (like automatics or OTFs), or where you can carry certain knives.

It is your responsibility to know the laws in your area before placing an order. We cannot keep track of every state, city, or country’s knife regulations, and we do not guarantee that any specific product is legal to own or carry in your jurisdiction.

If you’re unsure, we highly recommend doing a quick check with your local laws or reaching out to your local law enforcement agency before buying.

We Reserve the Right to Cancel Orders

If we believe a knife you're trying to purchase may violate laws in your state or country, we may cancel the order and issue a full refund — especially for international shipments. This is rare, but we’d rather be safe than sorry.

International buyers: If you're outside the United States, please email us at chris@lonestarknife.com before ordering. We'll work together to determine if shipping is possible and legal.

Knife Safety Basics

Even the best knives are dangerous in the wrong hands. Please use and carry your knife responsibly. Here are a few reminders:

  • Always cut away from your body
  • Keep your knife sharp — dull blades are more dangerous
  • Never use a knife as a screwdriver, pry bar, or hammer
  • Keep knives out of reach of children
  • Follow all local carry laws and workplace restrictions

By Purchasing, You Agree:

When you purchase from Lone Star Knife & Supply, you confirm that you are:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Legally allowed to own the items you purchase
  • Taking full responsibility for complying with local, state, and federal laws

We’re a small business built on trust and community — and we ask that you help us keep it that way by buying responsibly.

Questions? Not sure what’s legal in your area?
We recommend checking with your local police department or city/county government website for the most accurate and up-to-date information. Knife laws can vary widely by location — including restrictions on blade length, opening mechanisms, and where you can legally carry. It’s always best to check with the proper local authority before making a purchase.

Stay sharp, stay safe — and thanks for supporting Lone Star Knife & Supply.
