Collection: Benchmade

Benchmade Knife Company is one of the most recognized modern knife manufacturers in the United States. Founded in 1987 by Les de Asis in California before relocating to Oregon City, Oregon, Benchmade built its reputation on precision machining, quality materials, and early adoption of advanced manufacturing methods like CNC milling and laser cutting. The company became widely known for its Butterfly logo and its commitment to American production. For decades Benchmade has produced knives for everyday carry, outdoor use, rescue professionals, and military applications, with many models becoming long standing staples in the knife community.

A major part of Benchmade’s identity is the AXIS lock, introduced in the late 1990s and now one of the most influential ambidextrous lock systems ever created. Benchmade continues to design and build knives in Oregon, using premium steels such as S30V, S90V, and MagnaCut in more recent models. From the 940 Osborne and the Griptilian family to the Bugout and Bailout, Benchmade remains a leader in American knife making, offering consistent quality and production scale while still maintaining tight tolerances, strong warranty support, and a long history of innovation.
