Forged in Fire Champion. Cut from a sawmill blade.
Brandon Williams made these for us. The Mini Apache runs a modified spear point, a near symmetrical tip geometry that concentrates strength at the point and gives the knife real piercing ability alongside a clean primary edge. At 3.1" of blade and roughly 6.25" overall, it is the most compact knife in his lineup.
This run is cut from a reclaimed sawmill blade rather than 1095, and it holds an edge better than most high carbon steel. Convex grind, full tang. Each knife ships with a Kydex sheath set up for scout carry.
Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply: These are one offs. Brandon builds each knife individually, so the one you choose is the only one of it we will ever have.
Sawmill Blade Steel
Industrial sawmill blades are built to run for hours against wood, grit, and the occasional nail without going dull. The steel that goes into them is selected for toughness and edge holding first, and the blades get thrown out when the teeth are gone rather than when the body of the steel is spent.
Brandon cuts knives out of that body. It is steel that was already proven in a job harder than anything a belt knife will see, and in his hands it holds an edge better than most high carbon.
Handle Options
- Black G10, moisture resistant and impact tough, the version that disappears
- Black and Orange G10, the same material with a layer of orange, so a dropped knife is a found knife

Scout Carry
The sheath is set up for scout carry, which means horizontal across the small of the back or at the front of the belt rather than vertical on the hip. On a knife this short that is the setup that makes sense, because it sits under a shirt and does not catch a truck seat.
A Note on Carbon Steel
This is a carbon steel, not stainless. After use, wipe the blade clean and dry. For storage, apply a thin coat of blade wax or camellia oil to the flat of the blade. Renaissance Wax and purpose made blade wax both work well. Thirty seconds of maintenance keeps it performing for years. In humid conditions without care, surface rust will develop. The steel is worth the habit.
