Handmade by a Forged in Fire Champion.

Brandon Williams won Forged in Fire on Season 5, Episode 35 of the History Channel's competition series, and he made these for us. The Mini Snake River is one of his signature designs, a 3.5" drop point in 1095 high carbon with a convex grind.

The convex grind runs from spine to edge without a flat secondary bevel, so the blade cuts with less resistance and holds its geometry through hard use. Brandon applies his own in house heat treatment to dial in toughness and edge retention. Full tang throughout. Each knife ships with a Kydex sheath set up for scout carry.

Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply: These are one offs. Brandon builds each knife individually, so the one you choose is the only one of it we will ever have.

Purple Heart

Purple heart is one of the few woods that gets more colorful with age instead of less. Freshly cut it is a dull brown, and exposure to light and air turns it the purple it is named for over a matter of weeks. Handling it after that darkens it toward a deep eggplant.

It is also dense and hard, which makes it slow to work and well suited to a knife handle. There is one of these.

Scout Carry

The sheath is set up for scout carry, horizontal across the small of the back or at the front of the belt rather than vertical on the hip. It rides flat, stays under a shirt, and does not fight a truck seat.

A Note on 1095 High Carbon Steel

1095 is a carbon steel, not stainless. After use, wipe the blade clean and dry. For storage, apply a thin coat of blade wax or camellia oil to the flat of the blade. Renaissance Wax is a trusted option and purpose made blade wax works equally well. Thirty seconds of maintenance after use keeps 1095 performing and looking right for years. In humid conditions without care, surface rust will develop quickly. The steel is worth the habit.
