This is the ABW Model 1 in a full titanium handle with a button lock. It is a new take on the Model 1 platform from American Blade Works, Michael Martin's shop in Weaverville, North Carolina, built around a 3.25 inch MagnaCut blade.

The Model 1 Platform

The Model 1 is ABW's everyday carry folder, and this version puts it in a full titanium handle. Titanium adds a bit of weight and a more solid feel in hand while keeping the clean lines and balance of the platform. It rides on ceramic caged bearings with a hardened 416 stainless pivot, so the action stays smooth and consistent.

Button Lock

This version uses a button lock. You press the button to unlock the blade and close it one handed, which is a change from the liner lock on the standard Model 1. It is a simple, strong way to run a manual folder.

MagnaCut Blade

The 3.25 inch blade is CPM MagnaCut, heat treated and cryogenically tempered for a balance of edge retention and corrosion resistance, with the toughness to take daily use. A light stonewash with 3D milling gives the blade some visual depth while keeping it practical.

Made in the USA

American Blade Works is Michael Martin's family-owned shop in Weaverville, North Carolina, and nearly every component is made in house. It is backed by a one-year limited warranty. American mid-tech at this level is exactly what we like to carry.
