The Model 3 Platform

The Model 3 is ABW's most refined manual folder. It runs a button liner lock with thumb stud deployment, so you press the button to disengage and open one handed. The 3.3 inch MagnaCut blade uses a smooth grind rather than stepped milling, which gives it cleaner geometry behind the edge for better slicing.

Frag-Milled G10

This version wears a fragmentation pattern milled into the G10 scales, and it comes in a range of colors. The frag texture adds grip and a more aggressive look, and G10 carries warmer and grips more positively than aluminum. Pick your color from the options above.

MagnaCut Blade

The blade is CPM MagnaCut at 64 HRC, heat treated and cryogenically tempered. It holds an edge and resists rust, and the smooth grind makes it a clean slicer for everyday tasks. A stonewash finish hides normal wear.

Made in the USA

American Blade Works is Michael Martin's family-owned shop in Weaverville, North Carolina, and he machines nearly every component himself. It is backed by a one-year limited warranty. This is American mid-tech done right.

First purchase from ABW and typically I wouldn’t expect much from a smaller maker but boy was I impressed. If you’re a fan of a snappy button lock this is definitely a knife you need to own. The profile of the blade was stunning and the opening was smooth out the box. With all things considered and the price point i definitely look forward to my next knife from ABW

This knife deploys with minimal effort. The button liner lock makes it very easy to close. The modified wharncliffe makes it easy to sharpen and the high hardness Magnacut blade means it's scary sharp. Thumb studs are perfectly situated and the dialed in detent makes it a joy to deploy. It's hard to choose just one to carry forever if I had to make a choice but if I had to make a choice this one would definitely be in the running.
