The Hera II Mini

The Mini keeps the Hera's outline and shrinks it into something you can carry every day. At 6.90 inches overall and 1.9 ounces it is lighter than most people expect an OTF to be, and the internal screws leave the chassis clean on the outside. Microtech redesigned the pocket clip and glass breaker in 6Al4V titanium on this generation.

The Outbreak Signature Series

Outbreak is one of Microtech's Signature Series finishes, with a deep engraved pattern worked into the handle rather than printed on it. Signature Series knives sit above the standard models in Microtech's own lineup and tend to be the ones collectors chase, since the finishes come and go rather than staying in the catalog.

M390MK Steel

M390MK is Bohler's version of M390 made for Microtech, tuned with higher carbon for more consistent heat treat and better edge retention and corrosion resistance.

The Action

The dual fuel drivetrain is what Microtech reengineered on this generation, and it is the reason the Mini fires and retracts as smoothly as it does. The button pocket is designed to push debris out rather than trap it, which matters on a knife that lives in a pocket.

Why This One Stands Out

The bayonet is the less common blade shape in the Hera II Mini line, and Outbreak is a Signature Series finish rather than a standard catalog color. That combination does not come around often.
