The Little Boss

Same idea as the Big Boss with an inch taken off the blade. Three inches is the size where a fixed blade stops being a commitment and starts being something you clip on without thinking about it. You give up reach and you gain a knife you will actually carry.

The Tanto Tip

A tanto puts a second, shorter edge at the front at an angle to the main one, which leaves a great deal of steel behind the point. That makes it the tip to have if you push a knife into things rather than slicing with it.

1095 Is a Choice, Not a Compromise

1095 is a simple high carbon steel and that is the whole appeal. It takes a keener edge than most stainless will, and it comes back on a stone in a couple of minutes rather than a session. What it asks in return is that you keep it dry and wiped with a little oil, because it will rust if you neglect it and it will take on a patina whether you like it or not.

Multicolored Micarta

Micarta is layered fabric set in resin, and it grips harder as your hands get wet, which is the opposite of what a polished handle does. Multicolored means the layers show as the handle is shaped, so the pattern follows the contours rather than sitting on top of them.
