The Harpoon

A harpoon blade takes a step out of the spine partway along, which drops the tip lower and puts more weight forward. It is the least common of the shapes in this batch and it is the one people pick up first, because the silhouette is unmistakable from across a table. The step also gives your thumb somewhere to sit when you choke up on it.

The Little Boss

Same idea as the Big Boss with an inch taken off the blade. Three inches is the size where a fixed blade stops being a commitment and starts being something you clip on without thinking about it.

1095 Is a Choice, Not a Compromise

1095 is a simple high carbon steel and that is the whole appeal. It takes a keener edge than most stainless will, and it comes back on a stone in a couple of minutes rather than a session. What it asks in return is that you keep it dry and wiped with a little oil, because it will rust if you neglect it and it will take on a patina whether you like it or not.

Natural G10 and Blue Epoxy

Natural G10 is the uncolored version, a warm tan rather than the black most people picture. Blue epoxy poured against it makes for the sharpest contrast in this batch, and every pour comes out different, so this handle belongs to serial 003 alone.
