The Newt is the fixed blade that carries like a folder. This one runs a coyote Cerakote MagnaCut sheepsfoot with natural micarta scales and a Kydex sheath. Under 6 inches overall and about 1.9 ounces, it takes up less room in a pocket than most folders do.

The Newt

Hellbender built the Newt small enough to forget about and big enough to get four fingers around, which is the part most tiny fixed blades get wrong. A sheepsfoot gives you a straight edge and a spine that drops to meet it, so there is no upswept point to snag on what you are cutting. The Kydex sheath takes a wire pocket clip, sold separately, if you want front pocket carry.

Coyote Cerakote on MagnaCut

Most Newts we carry are satin. This one is coated. Cerakote is a ceramic based finish baked onto the blade, and on a stainless steel like MagnaCut it is there to kill glare and take abrasion rather than to stop rust. Coyote is the warm tan that reads as gear.

Natural Micarta

Natural micarta is the understated handle in the lineup, and it is the one that changes with time. It picks up hand oil and darkens where you hold it, so a Newt you have carried for two years does not look like one out of the box.
