The steel
MagnaCut is hard to beat for a working fixed blade. It takes a keen edge, holds it through real use, and stays stainless enough that a wet day outdoors will not leave you fighting rust. Hellbender runs it at 62 to 64 HRC, on the harder end, so the edge lasts between sharpenings.
The handle
Burlap micarta has a warmer, canvas-like texture that breaks in the more you use it and grips harder when your hands are wet. It is the pick if you want a natural, worked-in look over the synthetic pop of G10.
