The Oracle, a gravity razor knife from Hypercut MFG and Paragon.
The Oracle is a collaboration between Hypercut MFG and Paragon Knives at Asheville Steel. It uses Paragon's clamshell gravity mechanism: pinch the two buttons and the handles spread, swinging the blade out. Open, it locks solid and will not fold shut in use. Closed, it keeps debris out. The titanium carrier takes standard trapezoid razor blades and swaps with no tools.

The gravity action
Paragon made the clamshell gravity mechanism famous, and it is the whole appeal here. Pinching the buttons spreads the handles and swings the blade out, and the lock is about as foolproof as it gets. It holds far more rigidly than most razor knives.
A tool you swap blades in
The titanium carrier takes standard trapezoid utility blades, so you never sharpen it, you just drop in a fresh edge. That makes it a genuinely useful everyday cutter for boxes, cordage, and shop work.
Made in America
This is a two-shop American collaboration, Hypercut in Mills River and Paragon at Asheville Steel. Dylan got into knives through Rob at Asheville Steel in the first place, so the Oracle is that relationship turned into a product.
Why this one stands out
A gravity razor knife with a real pedigree, titanium hardware, and a foolproof action, from two American shops.
