The Sonora, an integral titanium button lock, serial 2264.
The Sonora is MachineWise's first folding knife, an integral titanium button lock flipper machined by a five person team in Phoenix, Arizona. The whole frame is CNC machined from a single piece of Grade 5 titanium, so there are no assembled scales, just two screws and the pivot. It runs a 3.35 inch CPM-S90V drop point blade on a bushing pivot with hardened stainless steel washers, tuned to a fraction of a thousandth for zero blade play and a smooth, hydraulic button lock action. This one is serial number 2264, Rockwell tested at 62.8 HRC, in raw stonewashed titanium with a Fine Step texture.
Note from Lone Star Knife and Supply: The integral frame is the whole story here. The handle is one solid billet of titanium, not two scales bolted together, which is about as rigid and seamless as a folder gets. Every Sonora is individually serialized and Rockwell tested before it ships, and the measured hardness goes on the QC card, not a spec sheet. It comes in a biscuit tin with a T15 driver, a maintenance card, a QC card and COA, and a sample of MachineWise's Carbon Honey Thin lube in an Orange Creamsicle scent.
