The Amphibian goes compact, with a more premium two-tone treatment.
The Microtech Amphibian Mini Ram-Lok takes the distinctive Amphibian design and brings it into a more compact package built for everyday carry.
This configuration pairs a 3.38" Bohler M390 blade with a two-tone finish and a black Frag-pattern aluminum handle. The result is a smaller Amphibian that still has the aggressive lines, substantial construction, and unmistakable Microtech character of the larger platform.
And importantly for Lone Star Knife & Supply, it is made in the USA.

The Amphibian Goes Mini
The full-size Amphibian is a substantial knife. The Amphibian Mini brings that same design language into dimensions that make considerably more sense for someone looking for a traditional EDC-sized folder.
You still get the sweeping Amphibian profile and a useful 3.38" blade, but with a 4.5" closed length that is much easier to work into a daily rotation.
Two-Tone M390 Blade
This version steps things up with a two-tone Bohler M390 blade.
The contrasting finishes emphasize the geometry of the blade and give this configuration a more premium appearance than the standard stonewashed version.
M390 has earned its reputation as a premium stainless knife steel thanks to its combination of:
• Excellent edge retention
• Excellent corrosion resistance
• Strong performance for everyday cutting
Black Frag Aluminum
The black aluminum handle features Microtech's Frag pattern, adding texture across the handle while giving the knife the distinctive machined appearance seen throughout Microtech's premium manual lineup.
This is also one of the key differences between the Amphibian Mini and some of Microtech's more affordable polymer manual folders.
You're getting an actual machined aluminum chassis, not molded polymer.
Ram-Lok
Microtech's Ram-Lok gives the Amphibian Mini its manual locking system.
Combined with the thumb disk, it gives you a distinctly different experience from the automatic knives Microtech is best known for while retaining the substantial, mechanical feel people expect from the company.
A Premium Mini Configuration
At $309 MSRP, this version sits above the standard $274 Amphibian Mini configuration.
For that additional cost, this particular model gives you the two-tone blade treatment paired with the black Frag aluminum handle, creating a more premium-looking version of the new compact platform.
Made in the USA
The Amphibian Mini is made in the United States.
We love seeing Microtech continue investing in American manufacturing while expanding its manual knife lineup into more sizes, materials, and price points.
There are plenty of imported folders competing in this category. Being able to get a machined aluminum, M390 Microtech built here at home is something worth supporting.
Why This One Stands Out
The Amphibian Mini takes one of Microtech's most distinctive manual designs and makes it considerably easier to carry.
This version goes a step further with its two-tone M390 blade and black Frag aluminum handle, giving you a more premium configuration without moving into exotic materials or collector-only pricing.
If you like the Amphibian but want something smaller, or you simply want a USA-made Microtech manual folder with a little more presence than the standard configuration, this is a strong option.
