Marfione Select, in galactic gold fluted titanium with blue titanium accents. Microtech brought this one to Blade Show West 2026.

This is not a show exclusive. It is one of the configurations Microtech built for the show, and it is a long way from the aluminum Amphibian Mini that sits on most shelves.

Marfione Select

Marfione Select is the designation Microtech puts on its upgraded builds. Here that means fluted titanium where the standard Amphibian Mini runs frag milled or slab aluminum, blue titanium accents, and stainless hardware that has been double vapor blasted instead of left plain.

Vapor blasting is a wet media process, so it leaves a soft even sheen rather than the harsh matte of dry blasting. Running it twice is what gets the hardware to sit correctly against anodized titanium.

Galactic Gold and Fluting

Titanium anodizing is voltage, not paint. Gold sits at a specific point on that scale, and galactic gold is worked past a flat single tone so the color shifts as the handle turns.

Fluting is the other half of it. Machining parallel channels down the handle does two things at once. It takes weight out and it gives the anodizing somewhere to pool, so the color is deeper in the channels than on the ridges. Combined with blue accents, the result is a handle that does not photograph the same way twice.

The Amphibian Recurve

The Amphibian has carried the same recurved blade profile for more than twenty years. A recurve puts a belly in the middle of the edge, which pulls material into the cut instead of pushing it away, so rope and cord part on a draw rather than needing pressure.

At 3.25 inches and 7.72 inches overall, the Mini keeps that profile at a size that works in a pocket every day.

Ram-Lok

Ram-Lok is Microtech's bar lock. It closes ambidextrously, the release sits on the handle rather than in the blade path, and your thumb never crosses where the blade travels.

Made in North Carolina

Microtech was founded by Anthony Marfione and manufactures to tight tolerances with American materials, backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Why This One Stands Out

A twenty year old blade profile under a handle that did not exist on this model until Microtech decided to build a few for a show.
