Purple chassis, Apocalyptic blade. Microtech brought this one to Blade Show West 2026.
This is not a show exclusive. It is one of the configurations Microtech built for the show, and purple is a color the Hera II Mini rarely wears.
Apocalyptic is Microtech's own finish, a heavily worked stonewash that comes out looking like a blade that has already seen a decade of use. It is not a coating, so there is nothing on the surface to wear through, and real scratches disappear into a finish that already reads as distressed.
Against a purple chassis the gray reads cooler than it does on black, which is the reason this pairing works.
The Hera II Mini sits between the UTX-70 and the UTX-85 in size, which puts a 3 inch blade and a full OTF mechanism in something under 7 inches open. Internal screws keep the chassis clean, and the redesigned 6AL4V clip and glass breaker make it the most comfortable Hera to carry.
The drivetrain is a scaled down version of the one in the full size Hera. The button pocket is designed to reduce friction and push debris out rather than trap it, which is the difference between an OTF that still fires after a year in a pocket and one that gets gritty.
The single edge is the version you can actually use. One sharpened edge means a usable spine for your thumb, and it is the configuration that stays legal in more places than the double edge does.
Microtech was founded by Anthony Marfione and manufactures to tight tolerances with American materials, backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
The least expensive way into this batch, in the color the rest of the batch does not have.
Automatic knives are restricted in some places, so check your state and local law before you order.
