Weathered Crimson Cerakote

Cerakote is a ceramic based coating that is sprayed and then cured in an oven, which is why it holds up to abrasion better than anodizing on an aluminum chassis. Weathered Crimson is a mottled finish rather than a flat one, so the red breaks up across the body instead of sitting evenly.

On a knife this small the whole body is the canvas. There is no scale and no inlay, just the chassis, which is why the finish choice carries the entire look.

The Smallest Hera

The Hera II Mini sits between the UTX-70 and the UTX-85 in size, which puts a 3 inch blade and a full OTF mechanism in something under 7 inches open. Internal screws keep the chassis clean, and the redesigned 6AL4V clip and glass breaker make it the most comfortable Hera to carry.

Dual Fuel Drivetrain

The drivetrain is a scaled down version of the one in the full size Hera. The button pocket is designed to reduce friction and push debris out rather than trap it, which is the difference between an OTF that still fires after a year in a pocket and one that gets gritty.

The Tanto Edge

The tanto puts a second shorter edge at the front at an angle to the primary one. That leaves a lot of steel behind the point, so the tip takes work that would roll a finer profile.

Made in North Carolina

Microtech was founded by Anthony Marfione and manufactures to tight tolerances with American materials, backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

Why This One Stands Out

M390MK and a full OTF mechanism in a 6.89 inch package, wearing a finish Microtech mixed for one weekend.
