Made in Asheville, North Carolina.

Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply: Show exclusives do not come back. This one was made for Blade Show West in Salt Lake City and the bronze works with the mountain engraving better than any other finish would have. The UTX-85 is the size most people actually carry out of the UTX line.

About the Apocalyptic Finish

Apocalyptic is Microtech's worked finish, tumbled and treated so the surface reads as already lived in rather than freshly machined. Bronzed Apocalyptic takes that and warms it, which is what makes the engraving show the way it does. A polished or black finish would have swallowed the mountain detail. This one lets it sit proud of the surface.

The UTX-85 Size

The UTX-85 is the middle ground in the UTX line and the one most people end up carrying. At 7.65 inches open and 3.1 ounces it is a full capability OTF that still disappears in a pocket, and the double edge dagger is the blade shape the platform is best known for.

Gen IV

The Gen IV drive train is the current generation of Microtech's OTF mechanism. It fires harder, cycles more consistently, and handles grit better than the generations before it, which on a knife that lives in a pocket is the thing that actually matters over a few years.
