The Ragnarok

The Ragnarok has been NCC's signature knife across seven generations now, and the numbers have stayed remarkably consistent through all of them. A 3.3 inch blade at 7.5 inches overall puts it in the size range most people actually carry, and the 5/32 inch blade stock is heavier than a typical gentleman's folder without crossing into something you would not want in a front pocket.

The Hawk Lock

This is what separates the Hawk V7 from the frame lock Ragnaroks. The Hawk Lock is a button style mechanism designed by Grant and Gavin Hawk, licensed out to a small number of makers, and it is the reason this version carries a higher price than the standard build. It opens on either the thumb studs or the flipper.

CTS-XHP and Skiff Bearings

CTS-XHP is a high carbon stainless that behaves closer to D2 in edge holding while still being stainless, and it is a steel that shows up mostly on custom and small batch work rather than production knives. The bearings are Skiff Made, which is the upgrade rather than the default, and the same bearing setup you see in other high end American folders.

Blue G10 Overlay

The overlay on this one is blue G10 over the titanium frame. G10 gives it texture and color that titanium alone does not, and at 3/16 of an inch the frame and overlay together give the knife real substance in hand.

About NCC Knives

Nicholas Chuprin builds the Ragnarok start to finish by hand in the United States, serializing each one. His work moves mostly through shows and direct sales, and getting one usually means being in the right place at the right time.

Why This One Stands Out

Hawk Lock Ragnaroks are the harder version to get, and blue G10 is not the overlay you see on most of them. This is a single knife.
