Who Walter Brend Was

Walter Brend spent decades building fighting knives by hand in North Carolina, and his Model 2 became one of the most copied blade shapes in American knifemaking. His knives went to people who used them professionally, and the waiting list for one ran years.

Steel Handles, Not Aluminum

This one runs 17-4 stainless handles, blasted and tumbled and then textured. Steel is heavier than aluminum and harder to machine, and almost nobody builds production folders out of it anymore because weight went out of style.

Sapphire Blue

The blade is finished in sapphire blue, which against blasted grey steel and an abalone button is the whole color story. Abalone shifts green, blue, and pink depending on where you are standing, so the two play off each other as you turn the knife.
