Mike Irie Did the Blade

Mike Irie is a Colorado knifemaker who has spent decades doing finish work that most shops will not attempt. A compound grind means more than one bevel angle on the same blade, and mirror polishing it leaves nowhere for a flaw to hide. Every grind line and every low spot would show. That is why almost no production knife at this size gets one.

On a 2.7 inch Duke, that is a lot of hand work on a small blade.

Pearl Inlay and Pearl Button

The handle carries a white pearl inlay and the button matches it. Shell, not plastic, so both shift as the light moves. Against black anodizing with a blue titanium clip, it is a dressier knife than the Duke usually is.

The Duke 2

The Duke 2 is a 2.7 inch automatic, which puts it in the pocket of people who cannot or will not carry something bigger. Small autos are harder to build well than large ones, because the spring has less room to work in.

Serialized of 80

Eighty exist. A hand finished blade on a show exclusive means this is the kind of knife that does not show up on the secondary market cheap.

Automatic knives are restricted in some places, so check your state and local law before you order.
