Topographic Texture Meets Shipwreck

The handle is machined with contour lines, the same way a topographic map shows elevation. Shipwreck anodizing then pools and shifts across those contours rather than laying down evenly, which means the pattern reads differently depending on how the light crosses it.

Texture and finish usually fight each other. Here the finish is doing what it does because of the texture, which is why this one is worth more than a plain anodized Malibu.

Black Lip Pearl

Black lip pearl is shell from the black lipped oyster, darker and more iridescent than white pearl, shifting green and blue depending on the angle. It picks up the same trick the handle is doing.

The Malibu

The Malibu is Pro-Tech's button lock flipper and the model that proved they could build a manual as well as they build autos. The detent is set so it flips hard, and the button drops the lock with one finger.

Why This One Stands Out

Custom anodizing on a machined contour handle. No two of these come out identical, because the finish is reacting to the surface it is laid over.
