Ramon Chavez

Ramon Chavez builds knives in New Mexico and has a following that came from making hard use folders rather than show pieces. A Chavez design run through Pro-Tech's production shop puts his geometry on an automatic, which is not something you get from his own bench.

Carbide Texturing on Red

Carbide texture is applied with a carbide tipped tool that peens the surface into thousands of raised points, rather than being milled or molded in. It grips harder than any cut pattern and it does not wear smooth.

In red, with everything else on the knife blacked out and a black lip pearl button, the handle is the only thing doing any talking.

MagnaMax

MagnaMax is Crucible's newer steel, built to push hardness past MagnaCut while keeping the corrosion resistance. It is still uncommon enough that most shops do not stock anything running it. DLC on top adds abrasion resistance rather than just color.

Why This One Stands Out

A Chavez design, a steel most dealers do not carry, and 150 made.

Automatic knives are restricted in some places, so check your state and local law before you order.
