A sterile blade and a tritium button. The Operator build of the Scapegoat Compact.
Ramon Chavez designed the Scapegoat for Pro-Tech. This is the Operator Edition of the Compact, carbide textured black aluminum with a sterile DLC black MagnaMax blade and a tritium push button.
Note from Lone Star Knife and Supply: The tritium button is the reason to buy this one over the standard Compact, and you will not understand why until the lights go out.

The Tritium Button
Tritium glows without a battery and without needing to be charged by light first. It is a sealed vial of gas that produces its own light for years, which is why it ends up on watch dials and gun sights.
On a knife button it means you can find the button in the dark by looking at it. That is a small thing until it is not.
What Sterile Means
A sterile blade carries no laser markings. No model name, no steel stamp, nothing. It is a convention borrowed from gear meant to be carried without advertising what it is, and on a DLC black blade it reads as deliberately plain rather than unfinished.
100 Produced
Pro-Tech made one hundred of these for the California Custom Knife Show. That is a larger run than most of what came off that table, but it is still a fixed number with no second run behind it.
An Automatic
Push button automatics are restricted in a number of states and cities. Worth checking your state and local law before you order.
About Pro-Tech Knives
Pro-Tech builds its knives in Placentia, California. Automatics are what they are known for, and the action on a Pro-Tech button is most of the reason these cost what they do.
