The Zero V2 in the Original milling pattern, machined from solid brass.
The Zero is Rivery MFG's screwless retractable utility knife, designed by engineer Michael Sayers and machined in Sevierville, Tennessee. This is the V2 in the Original pattern, cut from solid brass rather than aluminum. It takes standard replaceable utility blades and runs on a key-and-spring slide with a crisp click and clack.
What's new in the V2
Rivery redesigned the blade holder with a wider angle so it accepts a larger range of SK5 blade brands, added a wing to the carriage, and reworked the bearing surface to be simple and user serviceable. Most V2 parts drop into a Gen 1 body, with one exception: the winged carriage is V2 only.

Why brass
Brass is the reason to pick this one over the aluminum versions. It is heavier in the pocket, which changes how the slide feels, and it patinas with handling rather than staying the same. If you like a tool that shows the years you have carried it, this is the material to take.
The Original pattern
Original is the pattern the Zero launched with. No aggressive texture, just the machining, which is the version that lets the brass do the talking.
Blades it takes
The Zero uses common trapezoid utility blades. Rivery lists Workpro SK5 at 61mm, Dewalt Carbide Edge, Rapid Edge Serrated, Milwaukee, Titan, Berkling SK2h Black, Jet SK5 Titanium Coated, Stanley 11-800L, and selected generic SK5 blades. Fiskars and ceramic blades are not compatible.
Made in Tennessee
Every Zero is machined and assembled in East Tennessee. A small American shop reworking a tool most people overlook, done with real precision, is exactly what we like carrying.
Why this one stands out
The Original pattern in brass is the heaviest, warmest version of the Zero, and the only one that will look different in five years than it does today.
