Made One at a Time
These are hand made, so the numbers run close rather than exact. Figure on about a 4 inch blade at roughly 8.5 inches overall, with a handle that gives you a full four finger grip. Grady does the grinding, the handle work, and the finishing himself, which is why no two come out identical.
O1 Tool Steel
O1 is a carbon tool steel that takes a keen edge and comes back sharp with very little effort on a stone. It is not stainless, so it will patina with use and wants to be kept dry and waxed. The darkened stonewash finish adds some protection and hides the marks that come with using a knife, and the wax tin in the box is there for exactly that job.
Blue GripX
GripX is a rubber infused composite resin made by Grip-Tec Composites, and it is the only handle material on this list designed around grip first. The rubber in the resin means it stays planted when your hands are wet, muddy, or cold, without the aggressive texturing that chews up your palm on a long job. It is waterproof and made in the USA.
Kydex Sheath
Kydex is the low maintenance option. It holds the knife with a positive click, does not care about water, and is easy to rinse out after a messy job.
