One piece of Grade 5 titanium, in the finish with the most texture to it.

The PR001 is Stevens Tool Co's first pry bar, machined from a single billet of 6AL-4V titanium at 5 inches long and 1.5 ounces. The pocket clip is not bolted on. It is cut from the same piece of metal as the rest of the tool.

The Finish

Same two step process as the aluminum oxide version, with a coarser media. Glass beads at a heavy grit cut deeper into the surface, so the texture comes out more pronounced and the matte sits flatter.

In the hand that is the whole difference. This is the one with the most grip to it, and on a tool you are pushing and twisting, grip is not a cosmetic concern.

The Clip Is the Point

Most pocket clips are a separate piece of steel held on with screws. Screws back out, clips bend, and the small attached parts are the first thing to fail on a tool that lives in a pocket.

The PR001 has none of that. The clip is machined into the body, so there is nothing to loosen, nothing to lose, and nothing to replace. On a tool whose whole job is taking abuse, that is the decision that matters most.

What the Tip Does

Prying is the obvious use. The same tip works as a scraper, a package and letter opener, and a flathead screwdriver when the slot suits it. There is a bottle opener and a lanyard hole as well.

Samuel came to pry bars through knives and found he was reaching for the pry bar more often than the pocket knife. That is the honest case for carrying one, and it is a common experience once you do.

Grade 5 Titanium

6AL-4V is the aerospace alloy, stronger than commercially pure titanium and considerably harder to machine. At 1.5 ounces across 5 inches you get a tool that outlasts the pocket it rides in without being something you notice carrying.

It also does not rust, which matters on something you will put against painted metal, packing tape, and whatever else turns up.

Finished by Hand

Finishes are applied one tool at a time, so expect slight variation from one pry bar to the next. That is what hand finishing looks like rather than a defect.

What Comes With It

Each PR001 ships with roughly 12 inches of Atwood Rope MFG 275 cord, which is made in the USA, a Stevens Tool Co sticker sourced locally in Fort Worth, Texas, a certificate of authenticity, and a hard storage case.

About Stevens Tool Co.

Samuel Stevens started Stevens Tool Co in Texas in early 2026. Before EDC he worked as a guitar amplifier technician at a Fort Worth amp shop, repairing, designing, and building tube amps. He collected knives on the side, took a job at a large knife store, and used the connections he built in the EDC industry to get his own designs off the ground.

Everything is designed and finished in house. Machining goes out to American shops until he can buy the equipment to bring it under his own roof, which is the plan. In his words, keeping manufacturing in the United States matters to him.

The PR001 is his first pry bar design. He put it this way, it was the first pry bar he designed that he was truly happy with, and one has not left his pocket since.
