Why Copper

Copper patinas faster and more dramatically than brass. It darkens where your fingers land and stays bright where they do not, so within a few months the pen carries a record of how you hold it. If you want that to happen slower, a wipe with a polishing cloth resets it.

It is also heavy. A copper pen in the hand feels like a tool rather than a writing instrument, which is most of the appeal.
