This is a McNees PM Mac 2 in the 3.5 inch size, drop point, with the Shockwave milling on violet and blue anodized titanium. Stamped F for the flat grind. New is $595.

The Shockwave Milling

Shockwave is a milling pattern, not a finish. Concentric rings are cut into the titanium and ripple outward from a center point on each scale, which is where the name comes from. Because it is machined into the material rather than applied on top of it, it will not wear off, and the ridges give you real traction rather than just a look. The violet and blue anodizing sits over the milling and shifts as you turn the knife in the light.

The Flat Grind Is The Detail

McNees stamps the grind on the blade, and this one carries the F. A flat grind gives you a wedge that is thin behind the edge and it slices better than a hollow grind of the same stock on most materials. If you have looked at PM Mac 2s before, you know the grind stamp is the first thing people ask about.

Why We Priced This Above The Comps

Recent sales on PM Mac 2s land around $380 to $400. We put this one higher on purpose. McNees folders are sought after in a way that the thin comp data does not capture, and this is the flat ground version of the model people actually chase. If the market disagrees we will find out fast.
