This is a Medford Smooth Criminal with a 3 inch S35VN drop point blade on a hard anodized aluminum chassis, button lock with flipper deployment. See the photos for the handle color and blade finish.

The Smooth Criminal was Medford's first aluminum chassis button lock, and it was the knife that got them under three hundred dollars without giving up what people buy Medfords for. It is still 100% American made and it is still built like the shop that made it does not believe in thin material. At better than a half inch thick through the handle and 5 ounces on the scale, this is not a knife that disappears in a pocket. That is the point.

S35VN is the well rounded working steel of the group. It takes a good edge, holds it through real use, and comes back on a stone without a fight. On a 3 inch drop point with .15 inch stock behind it, you have a lot of material supporting a small blade, which is exactly the Medford formula.

This is for the person who is tired of knives that feel delicate. It is not a slicer and it does not pretend to be. Priced under what these run new, which is the whole reason the Back Door exists.
