Full size Amphibian Ram-Lok on black fluted G10, with a two-tone black M390MK blade.

The Amphibian is Microtech's manual folder on the Ram-Lok chassis. This is the full size at 3.9 inches of blade, in the two-tone black finish, with fluted black G10 scales. No box or accessories came with it.

Condition

Used, like new. No fall damage. The previous owner bought it in April of 2024 and barely carried it because the full size was more knife than he wanted in a pocket. It shows no carry wear that we can find. It comes with no box and no accessories, which is most of the reason it is priced where it is.

This One Is Manual

Worth saying plainly, because Microtech is known for automatics and people assume. The Amphibian Ram-Lok is a manual folder. You open it with the thumb stud, there is no button and no slide. That also means it ships to places an automatic cannot.

Ram-Lok

Ram-Lok is Microtech's own locking system. A spring loaded bar drops into the tang when the blade comes open, and you pull it back to close. It gives you a crossbar style action that works the same from either hand, with Microtech's tolerances behind it.

The Two-Tone Blade

Two-tone means the flats are finished dark and the grind is left bright, so the bevel reads as a line down the blade rather than disappearing into it. It is the finish that shows the grind off, and it is less common on the Amphibian than the stonewash and apocalyptic runs.

Fluted G10

The scales are G10 with flutes machined across them. G10 does not get slick when your hands are wet, and the fluting gives you something to grip without the sandpaper feel of aggressive texturing. It also cuts weight against the aluminum and titanium versions.

M390MK

M390MK is Bohler's powder steel and it is the standard across most of Microtech's line. You get edge retention and corrosion resistance well past what a basic stainless gives you, with enough toughness for everyday cutting.
