This is the Pro-Tech 2026 Synapse 2 Custom 003, designed with Vero. One hundred pieces made. It is the Custom version of the Synapse 2, which means the aluminum handle is replaced with two-tone blasted and tumbled 17-4 stainless, and the blade is acid washed CPM-MagnaMax rather than stonewashed or DLC.

What The Custom Changes

The standard Synapse 2 runs an aluminum handle and lists in the low three hundreds. This one is 17-4 stainless, worked in two finishes so the blasted and tumbled surfaces read differently as you turn it. That puts real weight in the hand and changes the whole character of the knife from a light carry auto to something that feels like it was built to be kept.

The details are where the hundred piece run shows. A white pearl firing button against black hardware, and a DLC black titanium milled clip. Nobody picks a white pearl button by accident.

The Synapse

The Synapse started as Joseph Vero's titanium flipper. Pro-Tech built the automatic version, and the second generation is the one that got people's attention. Vero brought the minimalist outline and the signature blade groove. Pro-Tech brought the push button action they have been refining for two decades, which fires harder than most people expect from a button lock.

CPM-MagnaMax

MagnaMax is one of Crucible's newer steels and it is built to push edge retention past MagnaCut while keeping the corrosion resistance that makes a steel worth carrying. The acid wash finish on this one is not a coating, it is a treatment, so it wears in rather than wearing off.

Why This One Is Priced At Retail

With a hundred piece run there is no secondary market on these yet. We looked and there is not one available anywhere. That means there is no established used price to come under, and this knife has never been carried.
