The Mother of Pearl Button

This is the detail that separates the MOP from the rest of the 921 line. The push button carries a white mother of pearl inlay, which is shell rather than plastic, so it shifts color as the light moves across it. Against a red handle it is the one warm, organic thing on an otherwise machined knife.

No two inlays look the same, because no two shells do.

Why the Godfather Matters

Pro-Tech built the Godfather around the Italian stiletto, the long, slim switchblade that became the shape everyone pictures when they hear the word. The difference is that this one is built to modern tolerances in California rather than cheaply copied overseas.

Four inches of blade is a lot of knife, and the Godfather carries it better than its size suggests. The handle is slim enough to sit flat in a pocket, and the deep carry clip keeps most of it out of sight.

154CM

154CM is the steel Pro-Tech has built its reputation on. It holds a working edge, resists corrosion, and sharpens without special equipment.

About the Action

Push button automatic. Worth checking your state and local law before you order, since automatic knives are restricted in some places.

About the Back Door

The Back Door is where returns, blems, one-offs, demos, factory seconds, and trade ins go. Everything in it is priced below the regular listing and described plainly, so you know exactly what you are getting and why it is here.
