Why This One Stands Out
- Solid titanium frame, green anodized
- Abalone inlay, which shifts green and blue as the light moves
- Stainless Damascus blade
- Sub two inch blade, so it is legal in places a larger auto is not
- Custom shop build rather than standard production
Small Blade, Real Reason
The Sprint sits under two inches on purpose. A lot of cities cap carry at two inches regardless of what the state allows, and California's own limit is what the frame was drawn around. It is the Pro-Tech auto you can carry in places the Godfather and the Malibu will not go.
Titanium and Abalone
Solid titanium rather than aluminum changes what the knife feels like in hand. It is denser, it warms to your hand instead of staying cold, and anodizing it is a heat and electrical process rather than a coating, so the color is in the oxide layer and will not chip off the way paint does.
The abalone is shell, set as an inlay. It reads green and blue depending on the angle, which is why it gets paired with a green frame rather than fighting it.
Damascus and Care
Damascus is not stainless in the way a single steel is. The pattern comes from different steels forge welded and etched, and that difference is also why it will spot if you leave it wet. Wipe it down and keep a light oil on it.
An Automatic
Button automatics are restricted in some states and cities, though a sub two inch blade clears a lot of the limits that stop a bigger one. Worth checking your state and local law before you order.
About Pro-Tech Knives
Pro-Tech builds its knives in Placentia, California. Automatics are what they are known for, and the action on a Pro-Tech button is most of the reason these cost what they do.
About The Back Door
