The Squire from Severed Metal Works is a compact, handmade fixed blade forged by Dean in Northern Alabama. Measuring roughly 7.5 inches overall, this design feels like a pocket-sized KA-BAR—rugged, balanced, and ready for everyday use.
Each Squire is individually serialized and one-of-a-kind, forged entirely by hand in small batches. Dean has produced fewer than one hundred knives to date, giving every Squire its own story, finish, and personality.

Forged with Character
Every blade is crafted from 80CrV2 high-carbon steel, chosen for its durability, edge retention, and ease of maintenance. While 80CrV2 is standard, any variant made from a different steel will be specified in the product details.
Each knife’s heat treatment, grind, handle, and finish are done by hand, making every serial number a unique creation from an emerging American bladesmith.
