Specifications

  • Brand: Ti2 Design
  • Model: TechLiner Grid
  • Edition: Galaga LE
  • Material: Titanium
  • Finish: Blue anodized, hand sanded
  • Refill: Pilot G2 compatible
  • Cap: Pull off, magnetically retained at tip and tail, posts

The Cap and the Refill

The cap pulls off and holds magnetically at both ends, so it snaps onto the tail and posts while you write rather than going in a pocket to get lost.

It takes a Pilot G2 refill, which is the spec that matters most on a pen at this price. G2 cartridges are at every drugstore for a couple of dollars, so you are never hunting a proprietary refill or paying a premium for one.

Anodized, Then Sanded Back

Anodizing titanium is not paint. The color comes from an oxide layer grown on the surface, and the thickness of that layer decides the color you get.

Hand sanding after the fact cuts the layer back wherever the sandpaper touches, so the high points go bright and bare while the recesses keep the blue. On a Grid body the milled pattern does the work, and because a person does the sanding, no two come out matching.

Titanium

Light, and it will not corrode or patina. The finish on this one is the thing that changes with wear, not the metal underneath it.

Galaga

A limited edition from Ti2. These run in small numbers and do not repeat.

About Ti2 Design

Ti2 Design works out of Honolulu, Hawaii, and it is the oldest of the companies Mike Bond runs. The TechLiner started life as a Kickstarter.

We met Mike at the California Custom Knife Show in the fall of 2026 and brought these back directly.
