MaximusKnives – Handmade in Deep East Texas
MaximusKnives is the work of Neil Warren, a full time bladesmith based in Lufkin, Texas. Established in 2018, the company was built on a simple idea, make great knives that last for generations.
Neil is a member of the Texas Knife Makers Guild and an ABS Apprentice Smith. Every blade is free hand ground, built from USA made materials, and paired with American made kydex sheaths. These are working knives made with intention, not mass produced.
Neil was featured on Forged in Fire, Season 8 Episode 23 on the History Channel, competing in a nationally televised bladesmith competition. The show originally inspired him to begin blacksmithing, and years later he found himself on that same stage. The opportunity came after the show discovered his work on Instagram, leading to his appearance in Season 8 after delays caused by COVID.
The name MaximusKnives carries personal meaning. The company is named after Neil’s son, whose middle name is Maximus, meaning “the greatest.” The brand represents more than just knives, it represents legacy, craftsmanship, and building something that will outlast its maker.
His Mamba EDC line has become his most popular design. Built around tough 80CrV2 steel with G10 handles and a purpose built kydex sheath, the Mamba series is designed for everyday carry and real world use.
