What Tactical Means Here

Tactical is Heretic's blacked out configuration. Nothing bright anywhere on the knife, which is the point if you would rather a knife not announce itself when you pull it out. It is also the version that hides handling marks best.

Glass Packed Polymer, and Why It Matters

Glass packed polymer is the same idea behind the frame on a SIG or a Glock. Chopped glass fiber is mixed into the polymer before it is molded, which makes the finished part far stiffer and more dimensionally stable than plain plastic while staying light.

On a knife that means Heretic can hold tight tolerances on a chassis that costs a fraction of machined aluminum or titanium. That is why this knife sits where it does on price. You are not getting less knife. You are getting the same internals in a housing that costs less to make.

The handle carries Heretic's Gator Grip texture molded into the surface, so the grip comes from the shape of the part rather than from anything applied to it.

What Is Underneath

The chassis is polymer, but the parts that do the work are not. Every internal component is machined, the hardware is hardened stainless, and stainless steel plates are set into the chassis for strength and rigidity where the knife needs it. This is not a budget build wearing a Heretic label.

MagnaCut

MagnaCut gives you edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance without trading any of the three. Finding it on an automatic at this price is not normal, and it is the spec that makes this knife an easy recommendation.

Full Size Blade, Small Knife

At 3.36 inches of blade and 3.40 ounces, this is a lot of cutting edge for what it weighs. The Mini Pariah is smaller than the full size Pariah in the hand but it did not give up blade to get there.

An Automatic, Still

Heretic is known for out the front autos, and the Mini Pariah Auto is a reminder they are still in the button lock business too. Worth checking your state and local law before you order, since automatic knives are restricted in some places.

Made in Florida

Heretic designs, engineers, and assembles every knife in house at their Melbourne, Florida facility, and backs all of it with a lifetime warranty. We toured the shop and watched the process firsthand.

Why This One Stands Out

We got six of these against twelve of the stonewash. Tactical configurations run smaller and go first.
